国連環境計画（UNEP）事務局長からのメッセージ
私はここに、UNEPの機関誌である「Our Planet」および「TUNZA」が日本の方々向けに発刊され、さらにインターネットに掲載されたことに対し、UNEPを代表して心より
感謝の言葉を述べたいと思います。
「Our Planet」は、持続可能な環境開発のための雑誌で、毎号、世界で尊敬されている著名な指導者や言論主導者たちが、主要な持続可能な開発問題について寄稿しています。
「TUNZA」は青少年による青少年のための雑誌で、彼らの将来にかかわりのある環境問題についてさらに理解を深め、変革のために必要な手がかりを与えることを意図しています。
「TUNZA」とは、UNEPが本拠を置く東アフリカの地域で使われているスワヒリ語で “愛をこめて大切にあつかう”という意味です。
これらの雑誌が日本語を話す方々に届けられることは、世界中の地域のできるだけ多くの人々に広報したいというUNEPの目的にとっても助けになります。私は、このウエブサイトの成功と同時に、日本の方々がこのウエブサイトを通じてUNEPについて学び、人類の幸せがかかっている環境持続の方法についての情報やアイディアを交換することができるようになることを願っています。

MESSAGE TO ASSOCIATES OF THE EARTH
ACKNOWLEDGING ITS SUPPORT IN PRODUCING JAPANESE VERSIONS OF OUR PLANET AND TUNZA MAGAZINES
I would like to express UNEP's sincere appreciation to Associates of the Earth for making UNEP's magazines Our Planet and Tunza available to the Japanese public, both in print and on the Internet.
Our Planet is UNEP's magazine for environmentally sustainable development. Each issue features articles by prominent and respected leaders and opinion makers from around the world on the major issues of sustainable development.
Tunza is UNEP's magazine by and for young people, designed to help them understand more about the environmental topics that are relevant to their future and give them the tools they need to make a difference. Tunza means 'to treat with care or affection' in Kiswahili, a regional language of East Africa where UNEP is based.
By making these publications available to Japanese speakers, Associates of the Earth is helping UNEP to achieve its objective of reaching out to as many people as possible in all regions of the world. I wish Associates of the Earth every success with this web site where the Japanese people can learn about UNEP's work and exchange information and ideas about how to sustain the environment on which humankind's well-being depends.
